Obituary of David Andrew Swain

David Andrew Swain, 56, passed away May 16, 2024, at his home in Fort Worth.

David was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 20, 1967 to Richard and Louise Swain. David graduated from Baylor University with a business degree in 1989. In 2003, he added an MBA from Southern Methodist University. David was an active supporter of organizations that supported the homeless and the hungry. His professional life was primarily spent working directly or as a consultant for non-profit organizations including Project-44, the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition, the Fort Worth Foundation, and the March of Dimes.

David enjoyed reading, music, relaxing with friends and family, and rooting for his Baylor Bears, Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings. David was a cancer survivor, having beaten multiple myeloma into remission in 2023. He was known for his excellent sense of style and great sense of humor. David was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth.

David is survived by his mother, Louise Swain, of Granbury; brother Jeffrey Swain and wife Julie, of Weatherford; nephew Andrew Swain and wife Anna of Coppell; and nephew Zachary Swain and wife Chloe of Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Swain.

A celebration of life will be held in the Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth on Friday, May 31, at 11:00 a.m.  He will be interred at Acton Methodist Church.
