Obituary of Irmgard Anna Reihs Iacabucci

Irmgard Reihs Iacabucci, 88, died on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Irmgard was born on October 5, 1935, in Osnabruck, Germany, to Gertrud Duffner Reihs and Heinrich Reihs. Irmgard, her mother, and two brothers immigrated to the United States in July 1951 when she was 15 years old. She grew up in Troy, NY with her family and graduated from St Catherine's Infant Nursing School in Albany.

With her experience, she was later hired by St Mary's Hospital as a prenatal nurse for young mothers. She met her spouse, Salvadore Iacabucci, and the two married on July 27, 1957 before relocating to Texas with their family.

As for hobbies, Irmgard loved gardening and meticulously nurtured her yard. Because of her endevors, she received several "Yard of the Month" awards and took great satisfaction in presenting her array of plants and flowers. Furthermore, Irmgard's love for children was evident in her affection for her own three children. On top of this, she also enjoyed spoiling her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. As a whole, she was and always will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother.

Irmgard is survived by her husband of 66 years, Salvadore Iacabucci; son David Iacabucci; daughter Carol McPherson and her husband Ken; daughter Penny Thorburn; grandchildren Matthew McPherson, Tiffany Moffett and her husband Josh, Alexis Thorburn, and Chloe Thorburn; two great grandchildren Liam and London Moffett; brother Arno Reihs; sister-in-laws Marie Reihs, Dolores Iacabucci, Patricia Iacabucci Harris, and several other relatives. She was preceded in death by brother Helmut Reihs.

No funeral services will be held.
