Obituary of George Edward Allison

George Edward Allison, beloved husband, father, and Papa passed away on May 25, 2024 in his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on July 11, 1942 to George Elmer Allison and Ruth Woolley Allison in Beaumont, Texas.

George graduated from Jasper High school where he excelled in all sports.  After graduation he played baseball at The University of Texas before transferring to Stephen F. Austin where he graduated with a degree in Economics.  George spent his entire career in the printing business before his retirement in 2002.  Outside of his family, his greatest passion was the game of golf.  He took the game of golf very serious and had the privilege of playing on some of the most prestigious courses and several Pro-Am tournaments.  In July of 2008, he reached the pinnacle of his sport by having his one and only hole in one. George loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren above all things and instilled in them the value of family.  He believed getting an education was a privilege and was the most proud when his 4 children graduated from college.  Being a Papa was the greatest title he ever had.  His grandchildren brought him joy and he felt most at peace when they were in his home.  We find peace in knowing that he is with the Lord and restored to the man that we knew.

George is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pat Allison; children, Amy Lee Hawkins, Jennifer Ann Nelson and husband Greg, Molly Hart Brinkley and husband Michael, and George William Allison and wife Emily; grandchildren, Kyle & Steven Nelson and wife Kristen, Corbett Joseph and Colin Edward Davis, Matthew Haffner and wife Rylie, Allison Hart and Jackson Wesley Haffner, Hunter, Hannah and Brooke Brinkley, and Anna Grace & Eloise Allison; great-grandchildren, Elyssa, McKenna, Freya, Rhylin and Rowan; sister, Susan Briggs and husband Larry; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; brother, John Robert Allison; sisters, Mary Linda Bennington, Anne Elise Allison-Smith; and niece, Maggie Lynn DuBois.

Pallbearers are Matthew Haffner, Joey Briggs, Jake Briggs, Chase Watkins, Jake Martin, Larry Briggs, Greg Martin, Clark Watkins, Wesley Vaughn Allison and John Thomas Allison.

Honorary Pallbearers are his precious Grandsons and best friend Lynn Cole.
