I am so sad to lose such a remarkable light such as Alan's in the world. His talents on the pipe organ at St. John's Anglican Church gave so many a closer experience with God and His saints. The musical programs he prepared were above and beyond what most parishes offer on special feast days and holidays. Yet I rejoice that Alan is now together again with his beloved Vivian, living in the splendor of God's light. May light perpetual shine upon him. Amen.

Alan spent many years serving Overton Park United Methodist Church. He was an excellent Director and a wonderful husband to Vivian and father to their three children. I count myself blessed to have known the whole family which he led. We had a lot of fun and memorable times with he and his family. He and Vivian worked together on everything. Alan was my husband's baby brother. As a child he was a part of our courtship and junior groomsman at our wedding in 1955. He visited us often after our marriage, and we loved having him with us. My children, Kate and Robert, were both in Alan's and Vivian's wedding in 1967 (flower girl and altar boy). Alan was a beloved member of our family, and we share many, many memories of him and his wife, three children, and his wonderful grandkids. I will miss his calls and visits. He was very special to me.. Much love from Aunt Dorothy Potts, 91, wife of Alan's deceased brother, Robert Joe Potts, Sr.

My condolences to the Potts family on the death of their patriarch. He was a truly great man I enjoyed sharing a love of music and the arts. He will be greatly missed. Fly high Snoopy my friend.
