Obituary of Michael Leroy Pacheco

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Michael Leroy Pacheco, beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle was born December 16, 1964, in Sterling, Colorado. He passed away into the arms of his Loving Savior on June 19, 2024, at the age of 59 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Michael is the son of Peter Angelo Pacheco and Helen Lorraine Hull Pacheco. Upon graduation from Sterling High School, Michael joined the Air Force. During his 4-year enlistment, he rose to the rank of Sargent and earned multiple decorations. He worked at the Scheduled Airline Ticket Office ("SATO").

His military experience led to his lifelong career in the travel industry. Michael's career included working for Braniff Airlines, CUC Travel, BCD Travel and lastly, he is a valued employee at Carlson Wagonlit Travel, serving their Celanese Account for over 20 years.

In his free time, Michael enjoys all things athletic and really shines at all sports and is a talented musician who excelled at the piano and trumpet. He is a huge foodie and his knack for making a recipe his own (and better) is like no other. He loves traveling to white sandy beaches, animals and listening to all kinds of music but it was 80s bands playing throughout the house that brought him much joy and relaxation.

Michael is survived by his loving and faithful spouse of 26 years, Brooke Sanders Pacheco; their cherished son, Jacob Ryan Pacheco of Fort Worth, TX; brothers, William J. Pacheco (Emilee) of Alvarado, TX, Ed "Bud" Karp Jr. (Margaret), of Bullhead City, AZ, Angelo Pacheco (Karen) of Beaverton, OR; sisters, Carrol Baldwin (Don) of Elgin, OR, Joyce Ducham (Bob) of Bullhead City, AZ, and Rita Pacheco of Bullhead City, AZ; son-in-law, Jeremy Peckinpaugh of Las Vegas, NV; and many beloved nephews and nieces.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Helen Lorraine Pacheco; father, Peter A. Pacheco; daughter, Holly Renee Pacheco Peckinpaugh; brothers, Bob Karp, and Buck Karp; and sister, Jane Hegele.

Michael's bigger-than-life, endearing personality and his quick wit is missed dearly. He never met a stranger, and everyone was his brother. He wouldn't hesitate to lend a helping hand and is remembered for his legacy of love and kindness.
