In Loving Memory of Jerry Ottie Thomas

Jerry Ottie Thomas, aged 84, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, August 18, at Oakwood Cemetery, followed by a reception at his daughter's home.

Jerry was born on August 18, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Ann and Ottie Thomas. He graduated from North Side High School and attended Texas Christian University (TCU), where he was a proud member of the Rodeo Team and earned the title of All-Around Cowboy Champion. In his younger years, Jerry also excelled as a Golden Gloves champion boxer.

An outstanding calf roper and avid golfer, Jerry was deeply involved in his community. He was a dedicated member of All Saints Episcopal Church, serving as a Stephen Minister, and his ministry extended to All the Glory Ministry, where he faithfully ministered to nursing home residents every Sunday for over 23 years. Additionally, Jerry was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Jerry was preceded in death by his grandson, Patrick Worrell. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sandra Thomas; daughters, Paige DeHart and husband, Mark, Shannon Worrell and husband, Trace, and Kelly Purselley; grandchildren, Laurel Bull, Hilary Crudup and husband, Scott, Hope DeHart, Morgan Campitelli and husband, Corbin, Allison Purselley, and Charles Worrell; great-grandchildren, Landry Campitelli and Jack Crudup; brother, Larry Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews; and stepson, Todd Snyder.

Jerry's legacy of love, faith, and community service will be cherished by all who knew him.
