Barbara was born in Aiken, South Carolina to Capt. Dewey Ray Miller and Girlie Bertha Miller.  After graduating Edisto High School and business school she took her first job in Charleston where she was introduced, via a blind date, to Franklin Moore who at the time was stationed at Fort Jackson Army base.  They married in Columbia, S.C. on September 16, 1961 and lived fifty-six blissful years until Franklin’s death in 2019.  Barbara adopted her new husband’s home state and officially became a Texan upon settling in Fort Worth. Together they raised four children who, quite successfully, kept her busy!  When not driving kids to and fro, Barbara engaged in a multitude of projects including home decorating (whether needed or not), reading, needlepoint, calligraphy, sewing, gardening, and best of all, cooking those South Carolina inspired meals. Her hosting friends and family for special occasions was graciously done in the true South Carolina style, complete with the southern accent that she never lost. Gardening was really her first passion making our yard always the envy of the Berkeley neighborhood. Travel was always on the agenda and she and Franklin did so extensively, including trips to the Holy Land, Italy, Austria, Hungary and many New England states among others. Especially memorable were those now lovingly laughed about spring break trips with the four grandchildren. She was also well known among the St.Andrew School and Nolan Catholic High communities for her extensive volunteer work on fundraising events such as the Saint Andrew Fall Festival and the Nolan Auction which she chaired several times in the early eighties. She also was involved with many committees over the years at Saint Andrew Church. She and Franklin were always proud of their involvement with the Fort Worth Serra Club, as members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem and their devotion to dear friends of their Image Group.  Our family takes great comfort in knowing Barbara is now reunited with Franklin for eternity.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, HurshelFranklin Moore (2019), and her son, Stephen Frances Moore(2016).  She is survived by her three daughters, Christine Marie Holtz (Gregory Holtz), Paula Rachelle Moore (Edward Pieksen), and Elizabeth Ann Keoughan (Martin Keoughan, IV); four grandchildren, Kathleen Ann Keoughan Sparks (Travis Sparks), Anna Catherine Graves (Ryon Ruffner), Emily Rae Keoghan(Jason McConahey), and Mason Gregory Holtz; one great-grand child, Bowen Adele Sparks.
