
Obituary of Lawrence Jay Bullock
Lawrence J. Bullock, a proud Air Force veteran, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, at the age of 87.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Lawrence's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home with Military Honors rendered at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior project or Tunnels to Towers in Larry’s memory.
Born on November 22, 1937, in Three Rivers Michigan, Larry dedicated his life to serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. He enlisted in the service in 1961, became an officer in 1962 and served with distinction until his retirement in 1989, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was a navigator and electronic warfare officer on B66 and B52 aircraft logging 200-combat missions over North Vietnam. He is the recipient of the two Distinguished Flying Cross’, nine Air Medal’s, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Master Navigator Wings, the Legion of Merit and the Vietnam Service Medal.
Beyond his military career, Larry worked for General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin before retiring for good in 2004. He was known for being an exceptionally friendly and loving person. He spent his free time taking care of the family’s land in Freestone County, traveling, spending time with his family, and especially with his three granddaughters.
He is survived by his devoted family, including his wife of 60 years, Nancy, his son, Jay, daughter-in-law Tonya, and grandchildren, Mackinley, Reagan, and Ryley. He was preceded in death by parents, Helen and Douglas Bullock as well as his stepmother Betty.
