Obituary of Katherine D Brooks
Kathy Brooks, 68, of Godley, Texas, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on February 12, 2025.
Kathy was born on January 26, 1957, in Fort Worth to Lloyd and Caroline Bateman. She spent much of her life in Fort Worth before moving to Granbury and later to Godley.
She devoted her life to caring for her loving husband, Ronnie, her family, and her dogs. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
She was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her, and she never met a stranger. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, making everyone around her feel like a lifelong friend. Whether through a meal or a phone call, she made sure to stay connected with those she loved.
Kathy loved to cook and serve others. This passion led to her and Ronnie opening their first restaurant in Haltom City, and later proudly serving Granbury from their popular restaurant, KK’s.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents and is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Brooks; son, Shane Bateman; stepsons, Chris and Tommy Brooks; grandchildren, Ryker, Kody, Leann, Trevor, Lacy, and Billy; great-grandchildren, Layla, Ona, Legacy, and Diliala; siblings; nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
