Obituary of Frederick Hart Cleveland Jr.
Frederick Hart Cleveland Jr, 68, of Fort Worth passed away on March 8, 2025 in Arlington Texas from cardiac arrest.
He was born July 22, 1956 in Harlingen, the first of Betty and Frederick Cleveland’s five children. He is survived by his son Christopher (and wife Akanksha), granddaughter Aria as well as his brother’s Jim (and wife Melanie) & Michael (and wife Heather) & sisters Kristina (and husband David) & Karla (and husband George).
Frederick held both a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. As a young engineer he was part of the team that designed the first print to speech reading machine for the blind. While married he lived for a number of years in Westford, Massachusetts, where he worked in the pioneering field of computer science as a software engineer. Later in life he moved back to Texas to care for his aging parents, looking after their daily and medical needs until their passing.
Fredrick was also an active member of St. Andrews Anglican church in Fort Worth, where he was a chalice bearer and was heavily involved in men’s bible study. He also helped with the kitchen at the local Ronald Mcdonald house, maintaining food supplies and encouraging other church patrons to volunteer their time.
Ricky was a lifelong Red Sox fan, and an Eagle Scout who later lead his sons Cub Scout troop. His empathy and generosity will be missed by all who knew him.
