
Obituary of Jerry Johnson
Gerald (Jerry) Owen Johnson, age 93, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025.
Born in Lillington, North Carolina, on June 4, 1931, he was the son of Hugh and Mantie Johnson. Jerry honorably served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1968 as a Technical Sergeant. Following his military career, he held various jobs and pursued numerous hobbies, including fishing, antique cars and hot rods, sports, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor Johnson; his son, Mark Johnson; his longtime companion, Phyllis Rawls; and his sister, Rutha Lane Manning.
Jerry is survived by his son, Michael Johnson, and his wife, Robin, of Lake Wylie, SC; his daughter, Anne-Marie J. Grevera, and her husband, Mark, of Charlotte, NC; his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Johnson; his granddaughter, Tricia J. Chafin; his grandsons, Randall Grevera, Russell Grevera, and Jake Johnson; five great-grandchildren; his sister, Ann Schafran and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76114. (817) 336-0345 with a visitation following. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed. ( link here )
A Celebration of Life will also be held in Charlotte, NC, at a later time.
