Obituary of Charlotte Jean West

Charlotte Jean West, 73, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation: 6 pm - 8 pm Monday, April 28, 2025, at Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd., Fort Worth, TX.
Service: 11 am Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in the Chapel of Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.
Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville, TX.

Charlotte was born on May 24, 1951, in Lake Worth, Texas, to Cobie and Donald Smith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. A proud member of the Baptist Church, Charlotte’s faith, kindness, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She had a big heart, a warm kitchen, and an infectious laugh. Charlotte loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, cooking delicious meals, and taking occasional trips to Winstar. Whether she was gathered around the table or cheering for her loved ones, her greatest joy was being with her family.

Charlotte is survived by her husband of 45 years, James West, who affectionately called her his Princess; her children, Michael Burgess and wife Carol of Lake Worth, Shain Burgess and wife Lindsey of Sevierville, TN, Glynna Yowell and husband Kris of Weatherford, Kelly Rubmann and husband Clint of Corrigan, and Allen Mack of Lakeside, numerous nieces and nephews, including Brenda Davis, who was like a daughter to her; her sister Frances Freeman, and brother Lester Smith ; and a host of many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, extended family, dear friends, and her fur babies Candy, Sheena, Taz, and Jaz who meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cobie and Donald Smith, and her sister Joyce Templeton.

Charlotte’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
