Obituary of Patricia Ann Johnson

Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Patricia Ann (Flanagan) Johnson passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on May 4, 1935, in Richardson, Texas to Woodrow William Flanagan and Rene Lucille (Smith) Flanagan Kennedy. In 1941, the family moved to Grapevine, Texas, where Pat graduated from Grapevine High School in 1953.

Pat loved music, sports, and participating in every possible event — especially marching in the band at football games and marching in the Fort Worth Fat Stock Show parade. After high school, she attended Brantley-Draughn Business College to further her education.

On November 6, 1955, Pat married her high school sweetheart, Clifton Wayne Johnson. Together, they raised two sons, Wayne Jr. and Brett, and shared 54 wonderful years of marriage before Wayne’s passing in 2009.

Pat began her banking career in 1976 and continued for 32 years. She formed countless friendships and lasting relationships during that time. A proud Grapevine Mustang, Pat cherished seeing her four grandchildren graduate from GHS. Homecoming was always a highlight — riding in the parade, attending the Exes Luncheon, and visiting with lifelong friends, many of whom still met monthly for lunch, all talking at once, just like old times.

Family meant everything to Pat. She loved attending sporting events, attending family fish fries, and making trips up north to Winstar and a lot of laughter along the way.

Pat was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow William Flanagan; her mother, Rene (Honey) Flanagan Kennedy; and her beloved husband, Wayne Johnson Sr.

Survivors: Sons, Wayne Johnson Jr. and wife Sundie of Grapevine, and Brett Johnson and wife Felicia of Grapevine; grandchildren, Derek Johnson and wife Jessie of Grapevine, TX, Kami Claiborne and husband Paul of McGregor, TX, Tanner Johnson of Grapevine, TX, and Chelsea Neal and husband Dylan of Frisco, TX; great-grandchildren, Tripp, Jett, and Cash Johnson, Kayla, Kylar, and Kip Claiborne, and Waylon Neal.

Pat lived a full life anchored by faith, family, and the enduring friendships she made in her beloved Grapevine community.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
