Obituary of John Clyde Belsly
John Clyde Belsly, 75, a longtime resident of Fort Worth, passed away December 14, 2020, in Mansfield from complications of COVID.John, born the only son to Clyde and Irene (Brock) Belsly on October 2, 1945, in Rawlings, WY, never lost his love for Wyoming.He graduated from the University of Wyoming and was an inveterate Wyoming Cowboy supporter and a season ticket holder. In 1992-93 he received The Distinguished Alumni Award for his continued support to his alma mater. He was equally devoted to his fraternity, Kappa Sigma.John proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Daniel Boone submarine, and in civilian life, he worked as a CPA with KPMG in Chicago and Fort Worth; VW Products Corp. and Valeo in Fort Worth, and as the CFO of Graham Magnetics in Graham, TX.John was an avid and longtime supporter of the arts in Fort Worth, including the Fort Worth Symphony, where he had season tickets for years, and Jubilee Theatre, which he supported from its inception.John’s most endearing quality was his big heart and generous nature. After 25 years of marriage, his first wife, Elizabeth, died in 1997 of a rare form of breast cancer, and he set up a scholarship in her name at Arlington Heights High School, the school where she last taught.John found love again and married Jan Cruickshank in April of 2005. Because of Jan, John got to be a dad to her 2 sons and grandpa to 5 grandchildren, and together he and Jan have shared many wonderful years of snowmobiling, fishing, and entertaining friends and relatives at their cabin in Wyoming, volunteering for the American Red Cross in disaster relief, cruising, and building a new house in Mansfield.John is survived by his wife Jan. He is also survived by his stepson Brad (Dede) Cruickshank of Azle, grandchildren, Slayton and Austin Cruickshank and Sydney Crosby and stepson Kevin (Kathrena) Cruickshank of Weatherford, grandchildren, Trent and Marissa Cruickshank, several special nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many special friends.
