Obituary of Terrence Alan Grisham

Terrence “Terry” Alan Grisham, 63, passed peacefully in his home Friday night, November 9, 2018, comfortable and surrounded by those he loved. Terry was born in September, 1955 to Gordon Grisham and the late Joan Grisham, of Fort Worth, TX.Terry resided in Tarrant County for the vast majority of his life, other than his time spent in beloved Austin, Tx attending the University of Texas Austin. At UT he formed countless friendships as a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and the Silver Spurs. After graduating in 1982 with a B.S. in Advertising he began a long career in politics and public service, retiring in 2016 from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s office.A devoted communicate of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Terry was a proud man of faith in the community. He attended mass at many churches throughout the city, but held a special place in his heart for St. Andrew’s and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. He and his wife also participated in the TCU Student Catholic Community to act as friendly neighbors for students without family nearby.Terry was a beloved husband, father, treasured friend and lifetime fan of the Texas Longhorns. He will always be remembered for his sarcastic humor, generous nature, faithful devotion and sharp wit.He is survived by his beloved wife Gigi, with whom he shared 16 love-filled years and his only child, Austin Elizabeth, whose 2017 wedding to Christopher Fairbanks was a great source of pride (and only a small level of consternation). Terry also leaves behind his 89 year old father Gordon “Corky” Grisham of Fort Worth, his two younger sisters, Mary Ann of Fort Worth and Sharon of Los Angeles. Additionally, by his niece, Catherine, nephew, Michael, and step-son, Jacob, as well as numerous cherished friends and extended family members.
