Obituary of Patrick Speak
John Patrick Speak was born July 14, 1998 in Tampa, Florida. He left this world to be healed in the next, and to be with our Lord and Savior, on February 26, 2022 at the age of 23. Patrick persisted through a six-month-long battle with cancer with remarkable courage, his ever-present dry wit, and philosophical good nature. Patrick’s childhood love of baseball and athletics followed him throughout his life. His days spent pitching in the Texas heat shaped his desire to persevere no matter the obstacle. His love of fishing, music, and the outdoors was a defining one; he was often to be found on the banks of the Trinity with rod and reel, or guitar and song. Patrick attended Texas Christian University and was a proud Horned Frog. TCU is also where Patrick met the love of his life, Anna Claire. He loved to travel to visit Anna Claire in her home state of Alabama, and made sure to hit many a fishing spot along the way. Patrick’s legacy of always having (and sharing!) an out-of-the-box perspective is one that his loved ones will ever remember and cherish. He is survived by his beloved girlfriend Anna Claire Bullard, loving parents Sheila and Doug Speak, siblings Bradley Speak and Shannon Beatty, brother-in-law Sean Beatty, niece Charlotte Beatty, and countless other adored family members and friends.
