Obituary of June Kinder Mirike
June Kinder Mirike passed away suddenly in her home on Friday, February 5, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and servant to her community. She was born to Rebeca Ethel and Samuel Edward Kinder Sr. in Jacksboro, Texas on June 12, 1936 and was the youngest of 7 children. She married Thomas R. Mirike on August 14, 1956, and recently celebrated 64 years of marriage, alongside her family.June loved serving her family of faith, most recently as the Lead Usher at Arborlawn United Methodist Church, UMW as well as Circle. June’s passion for many years was serving on the board of the Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant and as the Executive Director. In 2001, she retired from Tarrant County Junior College as the Administrative Assistant to the Provost. She was passionate about dedicating her time to volunteering and bringing great pleasure to others.June was a joyful, fun-loving friend to many, and made each person she met feel known and celebrated. She was full of life and enjoyed experiences and travel with her family, whom she treasured! She is joined in Heaven by her parents and her 6 siblings. She is survived by her husband, Thomas “Tommy” R. Mirike, her daughters and their families; Brenda and Phil Vandiver and their children Meredith Janssen and her husband Steve Janssen and Thomas Vandiver, and Barbara and Craig Wade and their daughters Morgan and Madeline Wade.
