Obituary of Maggie Ann Pitchford Hinshaw

Maggie Ann Pitchford Hinshaw, 91, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grand Mother and Aunt passed from this life January 15, 2021.Ann was born March 14, 1929 to Sibyl and Clay Pitchford in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Ann married the love of her life Marlin Hinshaw on April 20, 1946. She and Marlin moved to Indiana where they graduated from Purdue University. Ann and Marlin made their permanent home in Lakeside, Texas where they were some of the founding residents. Ann supported Lakeside by doing everything from being a Cub Scout Den Mother to serving on the Zoning and Planning Commission. It was because of this dedication that Lakeside presented her with the Outstanding Citizen Award for her 50 plus years of devotion to the community. Professionally, Ann was an educator. She taught thousands of students home economics, science and lastly computer science. She was an active supporter of the Irma Marsh PTA where they presented her with a lifetime membership. Ann had several interests. She was a member of the Harmony Club in the Fort Worth Woman’s Club. She was a member of several bridge groups and at one time she and Marlin were certified to play competitive bridge. Ann was a woman of faith and dearly loved John Knox Presbyterian Church and its members. Ann will be terribly missed by her family but also by all those whose lives she touched.Survivors: Sons, David Hinshaw and wife Roxane, Steven Hinshaw and wife Gayle; granddaughter, Megan Schott and husband Jordan; great grandson, Desmond Schott; great grand baby Schott arriving in June; sister, Peggy Thomas; numerous nieces, nephews and treasured friends.
