Obituary of Betty Karlene Eddins Ford

Betty Ford passed away peacefully, at the age of 83, on December 22, 2021, following a brief battle with cancer.A fourth generation Texan, Betty was born Betty Karlene Eddins in 1938 in and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. Upon her graduation from Paschal High School, she followed a career working in finance for the General Motors Acceptance Corporation, where she made many friends. Betty was a devout member of Central Christian Church and Ridglea Presbyterian Church.Betty’s passion was her family and her friends. She was a devoted wife and mother. Active in local PTA meetings, youth sports, and her church, she was quick to volunteer or to come to the aide of anyone struggling or in trouble. Resolute in her convictions and direct with her comments, you always knew where Betty stood on an issue and where you stood with her.Betty is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Ford; her son, Colonel Dom Ford, USMC, her daughter-in-law, Liz Ford, her granddaughter Jacqueline Ford, her grandson, Ryon Ford, God-son Bradley Wong and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and cherished loved ones.She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Edith Kemp Eddins and David Eddins.
