Obituary of Annie Elizabeth Wilson Bass

Annie Elizabeth Wilson Bass passed away peacefully on May 27, 2021, at the age of 96.Ann was predeceased by her parents, Wright and Pearl Wilson, husband Dr. James E. Bass, son, Kenneth E. Bass, sister, Patsy Wilson, brothers, Dale Wilson and Jim Wilson. She is survived by son, Bobby Bass (DeAnn) of North Richland Hills; grandsons, Austin Bass (Nikki) of Herndon, VA, Spencer Bass of Bedford and Parker Bass of Denton; great grandchildren, Barrett Bass (4) and Quinn Bass (5 mos.) of Herndon, VA. She is also survived by 2 nephews, cousins and many friends.Ann grew up in Kilgore, Texas on the Oil Fields of East Texas. It was at the age of 12 that she became a Christian and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. It was in Kilgore where she met James. They were married for 73 years. When they first married they owned and ran a Laundry Business in Shreveport, LA. for a few years and they moved to Fort Worth, Texas when James entered Southwestern Theological Seminary in 1952. They pastored together in North Fort Worth, Kessler Park(Dallas), Richland Hills Baptist Church (30 yrs) and Associate Pastor at Travis Ave. Baptist Church (25 yrs). During this time Ann supported James in the ministry of their church and faithfully supported the mission activities. She and James went to Africa on Mission Trips and she collected handmade crafts from the locals that she cherished and found a special place for them in their home. Through the years Ann taught Children’s Sunday School, sang in the choir and worked in Vacation Bible School.Ann worked faithfully for years at the local Voting Polls. She had a passion for gardening and their beautiful yard gave her much joy. She enjoyed entertaining friends in their home and playing forty-two and eighty-four. Ann’s pride and joy was her family. She was privileged to be a stay at home mom for Ken and Bob. She adored her three grandsons and great grandchildren. She would have been delighted to know that she has a great granddaughter.Ann was loved and will be missed by her family and many friends.
