Obituary of Mark Randell Todd

Mark Randell Todd, 68, died Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Fort Worth, Texas due to complications from COVID-19.He was born on Sunday, August 10, 1952 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Samuel Arlen Todd and Jessie Lorraine Berry. He grew up in Checotah, Oklahoma and attended Checotah Elementary School before moving to Fort Worth, Texas, where he graduated from O.D. Wyatt High School in 1970. Mark’s father preceded him in death and he was lovingly raised by his mother and step-father, Dalton Raglin.Mark married Carol Jean Gowan on June 6, 1972 in Fort Worth, Texas and to this union two children were born. He was drafted into the US Army in 1972 and received an honorable discharge in 1978.Mark graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977 and a Master of Public Administration degree in 1982, both from North Texas State University (now University of North Texas). He worked in public administration for almost 20 years and he retired as a Contract Specialist for the Tarrant County Workforce Development Board in 2016. He loved spending time with family, camping and traveling. He also had a passion for Scuba Diving, which he enjoyed for 48 years, during which time he became a Scuba instructor and certified over 600 students. Mark was preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by his step-father, Dalton Raglin; wife, Carol Gowan Todd; children, Samuel Thomas Todd and Mark Randell Todd Jr. (Randy); granddaughters, Haley Summers Todd and Dana Chenoa Todd; sister, Sandra Todd Katchinska; step-siblings Mike Raglin, Becky Wade, Kathy Wilson and Frances Ferguson and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.Mark had been a member of the Lake Worth United Methodist Church, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
