Obituary of Pat Richardson

James Patrick “Pat” Richardson, 79, of Fort Worth, passed away peacefully at his home on April 24, 2018 surrounded by family and friends.Pat was born in Fort Worth on January 24, 1939. He attended Daggett Junior High where he met his first wife, Marilyn Galloway, and his life long friend, Roy Lee Rambo. He graduated from Paschal High School in 1957 and went on to attend Texas Christian University on a football scholarship. Pat remained an avid TCU fan throughout his life. He was a longstanding member of the TCU Ex-Letterman’s association as well as a member and past president of the TCU Frog Club. Pat was co-owner and operator of Quickway Shopping, the family owned convenience store chain, when he retired. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends at Ridglea Country Club, where he served on the Board of Directors. One of the hobbies he enjoyed most was painting his “Santa Rocks” and giving them to friends and family. Each year he would paint a Santa Rock and a Halloween Rock for each of Janice’s kindergarten students. Over a span of 25 years, he painted and gave away more than 2,100 of these unique gifts. Known lovingly as PawPaw to his 12 grandchildren, he was happiest when spending time with family whether it was golfing, hunting for rocks and arrowheads, swimming, discussing sports, or watching the Horned Frogs.Preceded in death by his father, Rich Richardson; his mother, Icybelle Richardson; his brother, Bill Richardson; and his first wife, Marilyn Galloway Richardson, he is survived by his wife, Janice Richardson; daughter, Michelle and Kirk George of Amarillo; son, W.P. and Alicia Richardson of Fort Worth; stepchildren, Dan and Lilli Malone, Donna and Jeff Knight, and Molly Malone; 12 grandchildren: Kristen and Andrew Henk, Kyle and Reagan George, Drew Andrade, Rylie Richardson, Hunter and Kelley Malone, Bailey Malone, Madeline Malone, Ashton Knight, Hannah Knight, Marshall Knight, Alana and Kevin McConnell, and Lehua Egan; as well as many nieces and nephews.The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Envoy Hospice for their loving, caring and supportive team.
