Obituary of Janelle Betbeze Shore

Janelle Betbeze Shore, 89, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020.Janelle was born on February 5, 1931, in Meridian, Miss., to Arnold B. and Ruth (Sordet) Betbeze. Following her marriage to Walter A. Shore, Jr., she moved to Fort Worth, where she lived for 66 years and raised four children. In 1975 she completed her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Texas at Arlington. She returned to the workforce and worked for Texas Employment Commission for 18 years.After her 1993 retirement, Janelle volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was active in the Holy Family Catholic Church St. Vincent de Paul Society. She enjoyed genealogy, playing bridge, and attending theater. She also loved travel and visited more than 26 countries.Janelle was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her four children, Carla (Rich) Krajewski of N. Sutton, NH, Marcie Shore of Austin, Susan Shore (Nathan Gaspard) of Marksville, LA, David (Becky) Shore of Austin; brother, Arnold R. Betbeze; sister, Anne Kempe; and three grandchildren, Katie (Dave) Smith, Kimberly (Victor) Ramos, and Zelia Gaspard; and several nieces and nephews.
