Obituary of Veronika Hope Spicer

Veronika Hope “Finn” Spicer of North Richland Hills, Texas, was born in Magadan, Russia, on February 9, 1999, and was adopted by John Dee Spicer and Jill Fenimore Spicer on October 1, 2004. Finn passed away at Cook Children’s Hospital on January 3, 2018, surrounded by her adoring family.Finn was a senior at Richland High School, where she was adored by her classmates, teachers, and other students.Finn was a Texas State Gold Medalist for the Special Olympics, one of her proudest achievements.Finn lived an unapologetic life full of unconditional love. She loved her music, drawing pictures of family and friends, watching movies with her sisters, oversized shirts from her PopPop, dancing (her robot dance was legendary), eating her favorite foods (most any food would do), and drinking all the sodas she could get her hands on.Most of all, Finn loved her people. In her own amazing ways, she taught her people lessons about loving well, living in peace, mothering those around her, thanking people who help, and encouraging everyone in word and deed to, “beeeeeeee yourself.” Finn was always and only herself, and we will always be deeply grateful for her example.Finn, as she loved to be called, is survived by her parents, John Dee Spicer and Jill and Tricia Blythe; her siblings Alex, Luke, Giana, Song, Anna, Emma, Landon, Ella, Dean, and Parker; her grandparents Twila Spicer Meador, Bill and Janice Fenimore, the late John Dee Spicer, Sr. and the late Alva Meador; aunts and uncles Paige Fenimore, Melissa and John Bousquet, Connie and Kevin Dickerman; numerous cousins, and friends who are family.
