Obituary of Ladye Jane Dolive
Ladye Jane Dolive, 94, died on February 4, 2020.Ladye Jane Dolive, daughter of John L. Pipes and Elizabeth Jane Pipes, was born August 8, 1925 Terrell, TX. After the death of her father Jane and her mother moved to Huntsville, TX where she graduated from Huntsville High School in 1943. She would attend Sam Houston State Normal College for one year.Jane married Don E. Dolive in Huntsville on September 27, 1943 in Huntsville, TX. During the war she worked as a secretary in Austin and after the war lived in several cities in Texas until 1953 when they moved to Mesquite, TX. She and Don resided in Mesquite until his death in 2017. They were married for 74 years.Jane was an active member of New Covenant Presbyterian (formerly Casa Linda Presbyterian) Church for 63 years. She served the church faithfully in several volunteer capacities. She was an avid reader and never without a book, preferably an historical romance, to read. Over the years she thoroughly enjoyed vacationing with her husband Don throughout the United States. She loved history and dance. She loved her family and always had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews.Survivors include her son Mark Dolive and daughter-in-law Christie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
