Obituary of Joseph Francis Carter
Fort Worth, Texas - Joseph “Joe” Carter, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, after a 20-year battle with lymphoma. Joe was an example of hope, strength and determination. He was a servant leader in the Catholic community that included numerous hours of maintenance and repair work at St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Joe attended St. Ignatius Catholic School and Polytechnic High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Joe married Patsy Baughman in 1964. Joe worked for Bell Helicopter for 30 plus years. He retired at the age of 61 and the things he enjoyed most were golfing with his grandsons, hunting, working on projects around the house and helping others that were in need.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; his three children, Cynthia and her husband, Michael, Patricia and her husband, Danny, Elizabeth and her husband, Greg; grandchildren, Zachary Dierks, Jarrett Dierks, Danny Wywias Jr., Justin Wywias, Hayley Wywias, Justin Glenn, Carlie Glenn, Rhett Regula, Wade Regula; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, brother, Charles Carter, sisters, Jeanne Yamada, Therese Whalen and Mary Carter.
Rosary: 6:00 p.m. followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with military honors at Greenwood Memorial Park.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family has requested that a donation in the name of Joseph Carter be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ( www.lls.org ) or the Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County ( www.ugm-tc.org )
